MINI DANCE TEAM (8-9)

Dancers will primarily focus on learning jazz and contemporary dances. They will do extra performances along with our 2 studio recitals! They will also do 1 competition in the spring. Anyone can register online for this class, however students must attend the Placement Audition to secure a spot on the team. Auditions will be held August 4th, 2-3pm at the studio. Ages for this team are 8-9 yrs old. Dancers will have so much fun learning more technique, growing as a team and dancer, and getting extra performance opportunities to show off their talents!

DAY AND TIME:

-Monday 4:00-4:50pm

DRESSCODE:

-Stretchy/movable dance attire: leotard, tank top, or t-shirt with shorts/leggings. Hair in ponytail or bun (out of face). Tan jazz shoes.

BALLET 1/TUMBLING (6-10)

A combination class where dancers get to experience both ballet and tumbling in one session! Dancers will learn basic ballet terms, positions, and steps. They will also learn tumbling moves and build their strength.

DAY AND TIME:

-Thursday 5:40-6:25pm

DRESSCODE:

-Leotard with skirt, leggings, or biker shorts. Hair in ponytail or bun. Pink ballet shoes.

BALLET 2 (8-11)

An artistic dance form which is very disciplined using precise
and highly formalized set steps and gestures. Skills taught are posture,
alignment, balance, poise, grace, technique, steps and their names. Classical
ballet, which originated in Renaissance Italy and established during the 19th
century, is characterized by light, graceful, fluid movements.

This class is for ballet students who have previous ballet experience and can be repeated for 1-3 years for a strong foundation in ballet technique and terminology.

-Leotard, tights, skirt. Hair pulled back (ponytail or bun). Pink ballet shoes

FAIRYTALE BALLET(4-6)

Beginning ballet for young children using fairytales to teach terminology, positions, and technique, making the discipline fun and memorable.

-Thursday 4:00-4:45pm

DRESS CODE:

-Leotard, tights, skirt. Hair pulled back (ponytail or bun). Pink ballet shoes

Jazz 1 (6-8)

A type of dance from native American origin characterized by
improvisation, syncopation, and usually a regular or forceful rhythm. Students
will learn fluid and static body movement, isolating muscles, rhythm, jumps,
leaps, turns and flexibility.

​

DAY AND TIME:

-Monday 5:30-6:15pm

DRESS CODE:

-Leotard or athletic shirt. Stretchy bottoms or skirt. Hair out of face. Tan jazz shoes.

BEGINNING TAP (5+)

Tap dancing involves shoes with metal plates on the bottom to hear

the sounds. Students start with basics that get built upon and added to becoming more intricate and complicated that are used throughout all tap dancing levels.
Focus is on Sound and Technique, Rhythm and Timing, while learning steps,
their names and how to incorporate them into choreography. As tappers
advance an awareness is made of the different types snd styles of percussive
dance.

-Monday 4:00-4:45pm

DRESSCODE:

-Dance attire (stretchy clothes, leggings,...etc.) NO JEANS. Hair out of face, black tap shoes

TAP PINK/GREEN (6+)

Tap dancing involves shoes with metal plates on the bottom to hear

the sounds. Students start with basics that get built upon and added to becoming more intricate and complicated that are used throughout all tap dancing levels.
Focus is on Sound and Technique, Rhythm and Timing, while learning steps,
their names and how to incorporate them into choreography. As tappers
advance an awareness is made of the different types and styles of percussive
dance.

This class is good for older beginners in tap or younger students with 1-2 years of tap experience.

-Tuesday 5:00-5:45pm

TAP ORANGE (8-10)

Tap dancing involves shoes with metal plates on the bottom to hear
the sounds. Students start with basics that get built upon and added to becoming more intricate and complicated that are used throughout all tap dancing levels.
Focus is on Sound and Technique, Rhythm and Timing, while learning steps,
their names and how to incorporate them into choreography. As tappers
advance an awareness is made of the different types snd styles of percussive
dance.

This class is good for students who have had 2-3 years of tap experience.

Hip Hop A (7-9)

Funky version of jazz, It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. This class is great for beginners in Hip Hop and can be repeated.
